Class, here are some notes for you to study:

1.     4 Marks of the Church
"The four marks of the Church are one, holy, catholic, and apostolic."
 
2.     One
1. The Church is united as one in the same God.--The Trinity is One God just as the members of the Church make up One Church. 
2. One in the same Baptism.--The Church has one faith, one sacramental life, and one apostolic succession. 
3. One in the same Spirit. --The Holy Spirit is the soul of the Church. 
4. One in the same Body.--Jesus, the word made flesh, unifies the Church as one body. 
5. We are united in one hope--Salvation. 
 
3.     Holy 
1. The Church is Holy  because:
a,. God, the creator is holy.
b. Christ sacrificed Himself to make the Church holy
c. the Spirit of Holiness gives the Church life. 
 
4.     Catholic
1. The Church is Catholic because it is universal. 
2. The Church is missionary (sent out) to all people in all times to share the Good News to All. 
3. The universality of faith transcends all nations and cultures and therefore makes any form of racial prejudice or discrimination incompatible with Christianity. 
4. The Church will last for all time. 
 
5.     Apostolic
1. The Church's lasting foundation is built on Christ and the twelve apostles.
2. Christ leads the Church through Peter and the other Apostles who are present in their successors.
3. These successors are the current Pope and College of Bishops. 
4. The Church is indestructible and held safely in the Truth. 
 
6.     Review pp. 352-357 on the New Covenant.

b. Is the particular Church Catholic?
c. Who Belongs to the Catholic Church?

Dear Religion classes, 

For your homework please do a good examination of conscience in order to make a good confession this week. Use the worksheet we used in class today to reflect upon your actions since last confession.

To examine your conscience, you should:

1. Find a quiet space and put yourself in the presence of God.
2. Pray that the Holy Spirit and your Guardian Angel to help you make an honest examination. 
3. Go through the questions and reflect upon them. 
4.Write down your sins. 
5. Thank the Holy Spirit and your Guardian Angel for helping you reflect on your sins. 
6. Take the sheet to your confession so you can confess everything.

Dear 6th Grade, 


As we complete our Sorrowful Mysteries, and to help you prepare for the upcoming quiz, we will be completing an individual project that will be due on March 17.


For this project, you will have to:


1. Pick 1 of the Sorrowful Mysteries and create a comic of that scene. 
2. A medium sized poster is appropriate, and you may have 4 or more panels on your poster. 
3. You must draw the scenes and use words as well (i.e., dialogue/narrator)
4.  You must read up on the scene. Use the associated scripture verses I provided in the study guide. Also, read Luke 22-23 as it offers great details for the Crucifixion story. 
5. You must show a good effort in how you create your comic. 
6. Projects must be reverent and respectful.
