Use week 10 to answer the guided questions below:

1. Explain some functions of the brainstem and give some examples of the activities it controls.

2.  How does the body feel pain?  How fast are these pain messages felt?

3. What do you think your eyes, ears, mouth, nose and skin all have in common?  What do they all require to make them useful to the human body?  

4. How do you think the body might be affected if the occipital lobe of the brain were damaged in an accident?

5. What is the function of the limbic system?

Re-read Body Systems in Week 9 and complete guided questions:

 

1. Which body system is the framework of the body?

2. How do muscles help our bodies move?

3. Which body system helps your body get energy from food?

4. Besides getting air into and out of your lungs, what does the respiratory system do?

How do you think exercise benefits your body systems?

Read The Amazing Plant Kingdom and answer guided questions on a separate piece of paper.

 

Describe the steps in the process of photosynthesis.  

 

Analyze how animals benefit from the process of photosynthesis in plants. 

 

What is pollination?

 

What is the difference between vascular and non vascular plants? 

Read "Cells and Microbes" in week 2 of life science packet and answer guided questions:

 

1. Who gave cells their name?  How did he come up with the name?

2. Compare and contrast the information shown in the plant cell diagram and the animal cell diagram.  Be prepared to share on Wednesday!

Write down important facts!  You'll use these during our Solar System Lab! :)

Watch Planets of Our Solar System for Kids video on Google Classroom and answer the guided questions. :)

Review Week 8 Science packet and prepare for weekly challenger!  This will be open note but by reading over the articles again tonight, you will know where to find the answer to each question tomorrow! :) 

Finish reading the rest of week 7 science packet and define vocabulary.  Be prepared to answer 2 more teacher guided questions in class tomorrow based on tonight's assigned reading. :)
