Literature 6A Assignments

For homework complete the chapter 12 packet. 

For homework please read and complete the packet for Ch. 9. You must answer at least 1 of the Critical Thinking questions in a 5+ sentence paragraph, and at least 1 of the Write, Create, Discuss questions in 5+ sentences (unless you are drawing a quality picture). 

Class, please work on the chapter 5 packet. We will review in class and start on chapter 6 tomorrow. 

For homework, finish the chapter 5 packet, and 2 concrete details (with commentary). This will be checked tomorrow. 

For homework, please complete the Chapter 3 parts of the packet. Do not do the "Write, Discuss, Create" section on page 4. This will be due on Thursday. 

For Homework:

1. Continue working on reading logs
2. Finish the Critical Thinking section from the package. Make sure you write 3+ sentences for each question in your NOTEBOOK
3. On a separate sheet of paper (preferably printer paper) do page 4 of the packet. You must select number 1 or 2, and must do number 3.

1. Begin on your week 6 reading logs
2. Complete a 5+ sentence paragraph on C.S Lewis' Christianity (re-read the Biography we covered in class)

If you remember, we discussed two possible interpretations of the ending for The Giver--Jonas and Gabe are either hallucinating and die in the snow, or they finally reach a place that is full of love and family. In a 2 chunk paragraph, analyze and discuss which interpretation you feel is most likely happening.

For homework over the weekend you should be catching up on The Watsons go to Birmingham. We have already read a few chapters in class, and you should have continued reading over the past couple weeks at your pace. Therefore you must have completed reading up to chapter 7 by Monday (October 11).


In other words, you must read up to page 99 in Watsons. Remember that annotations will be checked.


Here is a schedule to help you along:


Friday: Chapters 3-4
Saturday: Chapters 5-6
Sunday: Chapters 6-7

A reminder to all literature classes, you should be taking this time during our writing instruction, to continue reading the assigned novel.
