Art Art Project: Value and Texture Booklets
Our medium will be pencil and colored pencil. Our skill will be expression through art movements.
*** Watch video on Google Classroom ****
https://youtu.be/FWMmjArpS1s

This video is demonstrating how to let art movements inspire your drawings. You DO NOT need to choose Neo-Impressionism or Baroque. You can if you want to.

1. Pick two art movements from the "Art Movement Part 1" PowerPoint on Google Classroom. Your art movement options are Baroque, Neo-Impressionism, Cubism and Surrealism. In this PowerPoint, I have provided a brief overview of the art movement and the characteristics that should be included in each drawing for the specific art movement.

2. Use the artwork examples within the powerpoint to influence your new insect drawing. You may want to google the artwork title for a better view.

3. Begin with a rough sketch of your perspective insect. You will be drawing these art movement inspired insects on squares 2 and 4. The perspective of your insect should match the perspective on the left square. For example, squares 1 & 2 should both be aerial views of your insect. The only difference is square 2 will have your insect transformed by an art movement style.

4. These drawings should be sketched in pencil and colored in colored pencils. They should include a background so the entire square is filled. Remember to follow the style of the art movement you chose.

5. Please upload two close up shots of your bug. An example is provided in the google class Assignment entitled "Insect drawn in Art Movements pt. 1".

Please email me at jreveles@ourladyofgrace.co or post your questions directly to google classroom.

I am happy to provide support to students who have concerns or are unsure of directions! Happy Creating!!

Art Art Project: Graphite Shoe Drawings
Our medium will be pencil and our skill will be value and shading.
*** Watch video on Google Classroom ****
1. Pick your favorite shoe as a subject for your drawing. Take a photo of it with your iPad to have a reference piece (you will also need to turn in this photo). This will make it easy if you want to space out the workload of the art project. This will also ensure that your shadows stay consistent while you are drawing.

2. Begin sketching the contour lines of your shoe. This is a rough sketch and should not be too dark in case you need to erase. It needs to take up as much space as possible. You will be marked down for small shoes. It needs to be as big as your hand if not bigger.

3. Begin to develop the shadows and details of your drawing. This is the bulk of your grade. Use the edge of your pencil to create value. Darkest tones have the darkest shading and lighter tones have little shading.

4. Outline the important aspects of the shoe to give it depth.

5. Submit a photo of your shoe and a photo of the drawing of your shoe to google classroom. You will not receive full credit, if I do not have a photo reference you used.

  • Art Project: Graphite Shoe Drawings
