Science 8 Assignments

Please make sure you have updated your journal entries for last week and for this week. You will have two more days of journal entries, Monday and Tuesday of next week. If you have finished your project and would like to bring in decorations for your coaster, you may do that on Monday and Tuesday. Final projects are due on Tuesday. Rollercoaster racing and time trials will begin next week as well. The final time trials will take place on Thursday!

Complete the journal entries for this week. Make sure you add detail about what you have accomplished each day, what are your worries, what are your frustrations, what are the positive things that happened. Please do not attach the document to this assignment, as it will lock you out of your Google Doc. Just click the turn-in button. I already have access to your documents....as long as you gave me permissions. Also, please do not share a pdf with me...I only want the Doc so I can write in my own notes.

As we begin our preparation for the rollercoaster project, I wanted to start you off with a few videos on paper rollercoaster projects as well as tips and tricks for creating the pieces. Please open up your To-Do list and go through each step. After completing an item, make sure to mark it off. Each item will cross itself out once you have completed that task. Complete the Speed and Motion Lab worksheet from today's activity. Students at home will turn in worksheet at school. Students at home will turn in a pdf copy of your work.

Using the PhET simulation below, complete the Gravity Force Lab worksheet. Once completed, submit a completed PDF of your work.

Following the instructions attached, create a Google Slides presentation on your given constellation.

Answer the following questions using the information from the video we watched in class on Tuesday and Thursday.

Complete the attached worksheet by going through the virtual Galaxy Lab. Link attached below. Once you've gone through all the parts of the lab online, make sure to complete the review questions which are located on the last page of the lab. Answers to these questions can be marked on the bottom of your worksheet.

Using the notes from today's lesson, answer the two questions. PDF of slides is on the Stars and Galaxies Resources material. Please label answers #1 and #2.

Using the notes from the Life of Stars lesson, answer the questions on the attached worksheet. You may either complete this worksheet on Notability or you may print it out on paper. Make sure you upload a completed PDF copy of your work.

Play the Kahoot game that is based off of the video we watched in class today. Let's see what you can recall from the video. No need to get 100% on this one....just do the best you can!

Complete the quiz on Google Forms. Before leaving the Zoom, make sure to confirm with me that your quiz has been received.

For this assignment, you will need to upload two PDFs.
1. Upload your class notes from today as a PDF. Notes must be complete for credit.
2. Upload your work from the practice worksheet attached to this assignment. Your homework should be a PDF of your work balancing the five equations. Please make sure you show ALL your work, as this will determine your credit.

We will work on this during class. For this assignment, I want you to do the work in a notebook. You will upload a pdf of your work. Please do not do on Notability, as I want to see your work with the number of atoms.

Please print or send a copy to Notability to work with in class on Monday, December 7. We will complete the worksheet together in class, but you will upload the first part of the assignment today.
Please only do the section where you count up the atoms on the reactant and product sides of the equation.

We will have one last quiz for the trimester on Thursday, December 3 on the Chemical Reaction lessons from this week. 

Starting on Slide 14, make sure to add the last type of chemical reaction to your notes, do the underlining slide, and complete the 4 question quiz.
