Art Project: Abstract Alphabet

Hello First Grade Artists! This week's video is discussing Abstract Art and Alphabets.

First click the YouTube link below to look at my demonstration of how to create this masterpiece.

link: https://youtu.be/sBh7YZl3cXw

Step 1: First begin with a white piece of computer paper. You will need markers, colored pencils, crayons and a black marker or sharpie. (please refer back to the video, if there is any confusion).

Step 2: Begin by writing the alphabet in upper case letters. You will be turning your paper 90 degrees every 6 or 7 letters.  Please connect some of your letters or place them on top of one another. This will make your artwork more interesting.

Step 3: Once completed, find all the closed shapes and begin filling them in with patterns or solid colors.

Step 4: Use lines and patterns to fill in other gaps where you think color would look interesting. Have fun with the color and this project!

Step 5: Mom or Dad email me a photo of your student's work by Mon. 4/6. My email is [email protected]

Please hold onto your student's artwork for later submission.

Feel free to contact me through email if you have any questions or concerns!

Have fun creating those Masterpieces.

Stay healthy and safe,

Ms. Reveles
